It’s November

In the Strata Cleaning economy, there is no doubt that November is the starting point for the winter season. In this edition of Strata Cleaning News, we touch on the fable of “Let’s clean the gutters when all the leaves have fallen” and why there is a better attack plan. We also cover our popular floor care unlimited spot cleaning program and provide some insights into budgeting for this year’s de-icing and snow removal services.

The Property Manager is expected to be an expert on everything and that contains cleaning services. We can help – cleaning services represent a large budget item and a major touch point.

We have an exciting Lunch & Learn Program we offer to property managers – with a meal included. We can’t pass 30 years of accumulated learnings in an hour, but we can share ways to make your workday easier. Did I mention a free lunch with a gourmet sandwich shop in your office? If your company is interested, please get in touch with me and we can set up a date.

Enjoy your week, and if we can help in any way never hesitate to reach out.

Unlimited Spot Cleaning Program – Floor Care – Great Value

Our Floor Care team maintains over 600 Residential Buildings in the Lower Mainland annually – a large portion being multi-storey buildings with four or more floors: spills and messes happen frequently. That’s why we designed the add-on Unlimited Spot Program. The cost is roughly $300 per year and when pets and tenants spill on the common area carpet we will dispatch a floor care tech and take care of it at no cost to the site. It is a super convenient and cost-effective strategy to keep buildings clean.

Gutter Cleaning is War – Timing of the Service

We live in a rain forest, which means we have all different types of trees, which all shed at different intervals of the year. Many evergreens will shed nettles in the spring or summer, or their branches break in strong winter storms. That’s why our office rolls its eyes when clients ask to schedule the full cleaning gutters after all the leaves have fallen. We often get called out after a spring or summer storm due to overflowing gutters, when they seemed to be working fine only days earlier.

The truth is you need a twelve month plan and our Gutter Cleaning Programs  are designed to meet this requirement.

Back in 2013 we wrote a great post on timing and its still relevant today. Click Here to have a read.

Cold Weather Service – Budgeting

Being on the front line of delivering de-icing and snow removal services for residential buildings in the Lower Mainland we are in a position to offer some insight. Last season, our field teams went out:

18 De-Icing Services days
8 Snow Removal Services days

Keep in mind we only service sidewalks, parking ramps and roundabouts of sites. Also on top of the actual field service delivered is the cost of the ice melt used and any fuel charges. What this year brings who knows but the average site on our automatic trigger program spent about $10k

Lunch & Learns – The Property Manager

I saw this post on LinkedIn, and I couldn’t agree more!

Property Managers are expected by owners and tenants to be skilled in everything and that includes cleaning services. Our team offers a great lunch-and-learn format.

We can’t pass on all our learnings as a one-source cleaning vendor the past 30 years of serving strata and rental buildings, but we can share ways to make your workday easier. If your company is interested please get in touch with me and we can set up a date. Not to mention we provide amazing gourmet sandwiches and soup.
